Wai is an alumnus from University of Toronto where he received his Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours. His degree in Kinesiology is complimented by his strong background in exercise physiology and personal training. This experience strengthens his ability to assess lower limb biomechanics and prescribe appropriate treatment plans for his patients.

Given his family's history of diabetes and his fascination for diabetic management, he was inspired to pursue further education at the Michener Institute of Education at UHN where he received his diploma in Chiropody with Distinction. During his time at Michener, Wai gained extensive clinical knowledge at Michener Chiropody Clinic, Newmarket Foot Centre, and Flemingdon Health Centre.

 

While at Flemingdon Health Centre, Wai was a part of the diabetic team and he was responsible for organizing and delivering diabetic seminars on management and monitoring of the diabetic condition for all incoming new patients. In addition, Wai was also a part of the People Accessing Care Teams (PACT) program at the Newmarket Foot Centre. This gave him the opportunity to give back to his community by providing free primary foot care services and health education for community members who are in need.

 

When Wai is away from the clinic, he enjoys playing hockey, golfing, hiking and travelling. He is a sports enthusiast which contributed to his special interest in sports injuries and lower limb biomechanics.
